The PerCom Industry Track

IEEE PerCom Industry Track is in its 6th year. The accepted papers will be published in the PerCom Workshops and other Affiliated Events proceedings. This track will be an opportunity for people associated with industry and academia to present their novel ideas while attracting funding and/or further expanding collaborations. These papers will be presented as part of the main conference program, where the content focuses on research that has direct Industry impact and potential for industry uptake. For this track, only high quality papers with clear industrial association will be solicited. There will be a Best Industry Track Paper Award to acknowledge and encourage excellence in collaborative industry research.

An important criteria for papers to be submitted to the Industry Track is clear industrial association, either in the form of extensive evaluation of research results in industrial use cases or active participation of industry representatives as co-authors. Having this condition in mind, contributions related to ongoing or finished, but previously unpublished research papers are welcomed. Submissions from a broad spectrum of research fields with common interest in pervasive computing and communications are expected.

Call for Industry Track Papers

The PerCom 2025 Industry Track invites submissions of research papers and short papers presenting novel ideas, work-in-progress, preliminary results, or insights from ongoing industry research related to pervasive computing and communications. This provides an opportunity for researchers from industry and academia to showcase their work, attract potential collaborators, gather feedback, and explore opportunities for knowledge transfer.

Relevant research topics include but are not limited to:

  • Pervasive systems and infrastructures (middleware, data engineering, cloud/fog/edge computing, smartphone integrations, device-to-device coordination)
  • Theories, models, and algorithms (context modeling, adaptive computing, activity/emotion recognition, machine learning, cognitive computing, complex networks, spatio-temporal modeling)
  • Domain-specific applications (mobile crowdsensing, healthcare, cyber-physical systems, smart homes/virtual assistants, AR/VR, smart vehicles, sustainability)
  • Intersections with IoT, sensor systems, opportunistic networks, cyber-physical systems
  • User-level concerns (social sensing, privacy, UI/UX, persuasion, online social networks)
  • Technological innovations (communication architectures/protocols, energy harvesting, mobile/wearable systems, positioning/tracking)

Paper Format: Research Papers: Maximum 6 pages in length, following the standard IEEE conference format. Short Papers: Maximum 2 pages in length, following the standard IEEE conference format.

Papers should include:

  • Motivation and background
  • Description of the proposed work/approach
  • Evaluation and results
  • Clear relevance and potential impact for industry

An important criteria is a clear industrial association, either in the form of extensive evaluation of research results in industrial use cases or active participation of industry representatives as co-authors. Presenting your research at PerCom 2025 is an excellent way to get feedback, initiate discussions, and explore potential collaborations within the pervasive computing research community. We welcome novel industry-relevant contributions from researchers and practitioners alike.

Submission Guidelines

  • Paper should follow IEEE format and should be no more than 6 pages in length for research (full-length) papers; short papers can be a maximum of 2 pages in length. Manuscripts must be formatted in accordance with the IEEE Computer Society author guidelines. The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates, as well as related information, can be found at the IEEE Computer Society website(https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html).
  • Paper submission must be done via EasyChair. Only electronic submissions in PDF format will be considered. If you do not have an EasyChair account, please, register first and create an account (it’s free) via the following link: register. The direct submission link for PerCom 2025 is https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=percom2025. To submit full-length research papers (6-pages), select “Industry Track Papers” and to submit short papers (2-pages) select “Industry Track Posters” from the list of tracks to submit papers to the main conference.
  • Review and Acceptance: Papers will undergo peer review by the Industry Track committee to ensure relevance, quality, and industrial applicability. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings and scheduled for presentation during the conference.
  • Submitted papers will undergo a rigorous “Single-blind” review process.
  • At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and present their contribution at the conference.
