In partnership with IEEE CS Sustainability, PerCom ’25 is dedicated to promoting eco-friendly practices and hosting a sustainable conference. Here are some of our key initiatives:
Carbon Neutrality (Tree Plantation)

IEEE PerCom ’25 is proud to contribute to a greener planet by planting trees in honor of all its attendees through One Tree Planted (https://onetreeplanted.org/). Each attendee will receive a gift certificate stating the number of trees planted in their name. We encourage you to visit the One Tree Planted website to learn more about their impactful global projects. The trees planted as part of IEEE PerCom ’25 will support one of their worldwide reforestation initiatives.
Bring Your Own Bottle

We encourage you to do your part by bringing your own reusable water bottle (BYOB). The Walter E. Washington Convention Center provides water stations throughout the venue, allowing attendees to refill their bottles conveniently. The water stations are marked in PINK on the Floor Plan. Thank you for helping us make PerCom ’25 a greener event!
Seed Paper Badges and Sustainable Lanyards

PerCom ’25 is committed to sustainability, and as part of our eco-friendly initiatives, attendee nametags will be printed on Seed Paper, while the lanyards will be made from sustainable materials. Seed paper is a unique, eco-friendly paper made from recycled paper waste embedded with wildflower, herb, or vegetable seeds. Once the event concludes, you can plant your nametag in a pot of soil or in your garden, where the seeds will germinate and grow into beautiful plants.
